Some warning signs of problematic gambling behavior are: bragging about winning, lying about losing, increasing time and money spent gambling, loss of interest and time spent with other people and activities, increased interest in the results of games or sports, irritability, anxiety or depression, increased alcohol or drug use, personal/home items missing, arguing about gambling.
If you choose to gamble, know how to play it safe. Low risk gambling includes: gambling for fun not for money, setting limits on time and money set, never borrowing to gamble, don’t gamble illegally, remember that everyone losses over time and that knowing more about a game or sport doesn’t make you a better gambler. Know where to get help for any problems related to gambling and be willing to help someone you think has a problem.
